As an alternative to names embroidered across the shoulders of jackets, directly into the fabric, THREADS is able to offer names embroidered onto patches, which can then be sewn onto jackets.
POSITION
It is a legal requirement of the BJA and the IJF, that the name patches – SURNAMES ONLY – are positioned centrally on the jacket back, at a distance of 3cm from the base of the collar.
SEWING ON
Backpatches MUST be sewn on securely, with a close ZIGZAG stitch, preferably using an industrial sewing machine, such as at a local tailor or dressmaker.
If this method is NOT used, the edges of the patch will be liable to fraying, due to the hard use it will be subjected to during the course of the sport.
